Proclaim holy scripture for the community at Sunday, Daily, and Holy Day Liturgies. This is accomplished not by mere "reading" of words, but through study of Scripture to understand the writer's intent, and thereby communicate God's message to the assembly correctly. Qualities needed: A deep love of Scripture and a desire to continually grow in knowledge and understanding of it; practicing and fully initiated Roman Catholic, registered in the Parish; ability to proclaim and not just read; good public presence and vocal projection. Training: 3 training sessions, provided by the Parish. Approval by the Pastor and Certification by the Bishop are required. May select your Mass time preference. Your unavailable dates can be accommodated. Normally assigned about once a month. Must show up 20 minutes before Mass.
