CENTERING PRAYER

Centering Prayer Group meets on Wednesdays at 9:15 am. Centering Prayer is a method designed to facilitate the development of contemplative prayer. Contemplative prayer is a normal development of the grace of Baptism. It is the opening of our minds and hearts to God beyond thoughts, words and emotions. We "center" together for 20 minutes and then watch a set of tapes by Thomas Keating, a Trappist monk from Colorado. Keating leads a group called Contemplative Outreach which teaches Centering Prayer nationally and internationally.
