LITURGY OF THE WORD WITH CHILDREN

During the 9am Sunday mass, our children leave the larger parish assembly to participate in a concurrent Liturgy of the Word and return thereafter for the Liturgy of the Eucharist. Within age specific groups (4-6, 7-9, and 10/ older years of age) Children's Liturgy ministers proclaim the Sunday readings to the children from the Children's Lectionary, and reflect on the readings with the children. Once a month we bring Children's Liturgy to the larger parish assembly by celebrating Liturgy with Children. During Liturgy with Children, a child lector proclaims the readings, and the homily is directed to the children. Children in 5th grade or above can serve as ministers during Liturgy with Children as lectors, actors and ushers. Children's Liturgy is a wonderful way to share the living Word of God with the children of St. Theresa.
