7:00pm - Opening Prayer Michael Harris

7:05pm - President Neil Urban welcomed the Council.
Neil welcomed Joe Sotelo to the Council membership.
Minutes were approved

7:10pm - Pastor's Report: Fr. Nick Floridi

  • Fr. Nick reported for Fr. Chuck on the status of the remodeling projects: Baptistry work is in progress. EDOC January 24, 3005
  • Gate security and plan of operation was discussed.
  • Holiday Mass schedule will be published:
    1. eight (8) Masses for Christmas Eve/Day, four (4) on Sunday, Feast of the Holy Family.
    2. New Year=s Eve (1) at 5pm; New Year=s Day three (3) and Sunday anuary 01 2005 returns to the regular Sunday Mass schedule.
    3. There will be no communal reconciliation, and none on Christmas Day.
  • Vicariate/Deanery restructuring: Bishop Olmsted is interviewing priests. More news next time.
  • Diocesan Pastoral Council in-service: no report
7:30pm - Old Business
Council Retreat: Neil Urban
  • January 12, 2005 6pm for the Council's mini retreat. This will include dinner. Neil will develop the plan for the evening. Mary Ehret has offered her home. Members will contribute a pot-luck menu.
7:40pm - Adult Education Ministry: Fr. Nick
  • Fr. Nick reported continued progress with adult education series. November 08, 2004 was Paul Dupree and this was well received.
  • Work in progress on sessions on EOL issues: estate planning, wills, cremation, issues of life-support decisions and estate planning.
  • Plans for Ryan Hough on Bible Time Line continue.
  • Little Rock Scripture Study begins January 31 to April 25, 2005
  • A presentation by Ellen Ford on Faith, Formation and Family is planned for February 2005
7:45pm - Web Site, K Lewis reported for Rob Kubasko (OOT)
  • Updates to the site continue as scheduled. Of special note is a new spotlight on the homepage highlighting Father Chuck's recent weekly message on the continued implementation of GIRM changes.
  • Planning on a holiday section next week with holiday events and schedule spotlighted on the homepage.
  • Admin tools for ministries has been delayed (we wanted to aim for the Ministry Fair) because of a new client project But we should have the ready by early January.
  • Planning is beginning now for a Lenten calendar (both web and print) since it sounding like there will be multiple events tied to the season. Will be asking Shannon (and anyone else who might be suggested) to send a complete list I can start to work from for the project.
  • Thanks to everyone's work at the Ministry Fair and special thanks for Shannon in the office for her help with the site.
7:47pm - Employment Ministry Status: Terez Sanguine
  • Terez provided an extensive historical review of the concept. Questions arose as to whether or not this should be a free-standing ministry, and if so, who would lead/supervise. Consensus was that the development, room, and fiscal considerations would involve the pastor, administration, and perhaps the Finance ministry.
8:10pm - New Business
  • Advent Adoption: Terez Sanguine
    Terez provided an expansive summary of the family needs, plans and details for accomplishing the tasks to be completed respecting the family=s integrity. Joe Sotelo and Billie Young offered suggestions for plan of distribution. Neil Urban thanked the Council members for their generosity.
8:35pm - Parish Seder Celebration Neil Urban
  • Neil Urban reviewed the handout regarding the plan and process for a Seder Meal celebration. Joe Sotelo offered suggestions for Life Teen involvement and support. Consensus was that the Seder Meal celebration continue.
